We are happy to announce the release of a game we worked on with Mind Orchard for LEGO Spiderman, which is now released! GrindheadGames worked on the development of this title, which features Spiderman facing his mightiest foe, the Green Goblin. Players can use either their Desktop or tablet device to play against pragmatically generated levels, while saving lives in the process.
Another year, another indie game! We have been hard at work on a new indie game, and are proud to announce: Davey Jones: Tower Defence. As the name suggests, this is a tower defence game!
Davey Jones: Tower Defence will initially be released worldwide on web portals such as Kongregate as a free to play game. We will then port the game to Android and iOS devices, including more content and additional DLC (Downloadable Content Content). This content will also be available to players that play online but won’t be available until the launch of the mobile versions.
We’re lucky to be working with Letsbrock on the project, he is a brilliant illustrator and designer and has done a great job directing an old school, 8bit style. We are very happy to have him on board and have created some screenshots of the game to show you:
LetsBrock has also enlisted the help of LittleBrock who has created some 8-bit shanty music to serenade you as you build up your defences. We have uploaded the main theme to SoundCloud for you to preview – have a listen and let us know what you think in the comments!
We are big fans of other games in this genre, such as Fieldrunners, the Bloons series, Kingdom Rush and of course, Onslaught!
What are your favourite Tower Defence game(s), if any ? Is there anything you would like to see in Davey Jones: Tower Defence ?
Rio: Flight was a game created by Craig Beswetherick while working at Substance. The game featured 3 different 3D game modes for the player to complete involving the lead character from the Rio film, Blu.
In the first game mode the player has to balance blu on top of one of the gliders from the film.
In the second game mode, jump between gliders to decrease the altitude of Blu before they fly away into the distance.
In the final game mode, crash Blu into the umbrellas on the beach while avoiding beach balls until you reach the end.
Players are rewarded with clips from the film between each level, with relate to gameplay scenarios.
City Defender is a soon to be released defence game for tablet devices born out of a desire to create a project for the Blackberry Playbook, sent to me by the kind people over and Blackberry. The lovely artwork has been created by my good friend Jimp and will be available free on the App World very shortly. Releases on other tablets will follow soon afterwards.
