Craig Beswetherick worked with Aardman Animations to release an update to the Championsheeps suite of games on the BBC website. The update included 5 new games, to bring the total amount to 10. Craig Beswetherick worked on one of these games, Sheep Might Fly.
Sheep Might Fly features the Naughty Pigs, which are trying to throw objects at the Farmer to wake him up and get Shaun and friends in trouble. To protect him, the user must control the sheep and fire them off a trampoline at the incoming objects. The user has some protection in the form of a hay bale wall, which can be destroyed by objects but will also be repaired by an alien spaceship!
Sheep Might Fly also featured controls to make the game more accessible to disabled people and to make sure the game met BBC accessibility guidelines. Pressing a keyboard button brings up an interface that allows the game to be played by keyboard only. Each menu button within the game can also be controlled by keyboard input alone.
Sheep Might Fly featured several achievements which can be unlocked during gameplay. Im not giving away any secrets on how to get them!
Each projectile fired towards the player had its own unique attributes making them react to the player in different ways. Use skill to fire the sheep at the most efficient angle possible, hitting as many objects in a single shot as you can.
